Dead Snow

A group of friends head off into the snowy mountains in Norway for a Easter vacation - unknown to them the mountains are also home to some other unsavory tenants!
Back at the end of World War II in a Norwegian town, the Germans stationed there learnt of their defeat and the townspeople rounded together and went after their once tormentors. They killed a few and ran the rest of them up into the mountains where they were thought ot have froze to death - but that wasn't the case!

The group of friends are staying in a cabin and underneath it is a stash of cursed gold that the Germans had stolen prior to being run out of the town - unfortunately for these friends, the Germans want it back..and so begins the mayhem!Once the film going the red stuff flows in great amounts, and set against its snowy backdrop it rreally adds to the enthusiasm and creativity that director Tommy Wirkola puts into this film. There's laughs along the way which unlike a lot of horror films adds to the films enjoyment.

The final third of the film is a gorehounds wet dream! Not since White Heaven In Hell, one of the Baby Cart series of films, have i seen such a cool use of snow as a canvas to the flowing red.One scene that really stands out in the film is an awesome point of view shot of one of the female characters as she comes around from being knocked out to see the zombies pulling out her intestines before she finally dies!

Its never really explained why the Nazis are infact zombies, but its obviously clear that they dont like people taking their treasure! Highly entertaining and well worth checking out once it hits the shelves on DVD in the near future, unless of course you are lucky enough to catch it on the big screen at a film fest.
