If like me, you enjoy some of those crazy films from over Asia way here’s one I found years ago on a bad video dub that is certainly a entertaining ride. So needless to say I was over joyed when Mondo Macabro gave it a DVD resurrection. Hailing from Indonesia the country has some totally crazy horror/exploitation films like “Virgins From Hell” ‘87 and “The Queen of Black Magic” ‘79 . This low budget gem is a cult classic if I ever saw one as well as being a sensation upon it’s release in Asia.

Enter---if you dare. This totally wacky early 80’s oddball frightfully funny, weird and wild entry that couldn’t have a better home than Mondo Macabro DVD, who specialize in these kind of films. Cathy is an American tourist in Bali investigating magic who discovers the all-powerful mystical Leyak black magic. Wanting to learn more she takes lessons from a old witch. Soon Cathy is possessed and turned into a controlled disciple by the ugly old---Yoda voiced---witch with ‘Nosferatu meets Coffin Joe’ fingers and a endless cackling laugh.

Throw in a little gore, strange noises, effects record wolf howls, really fake thunder & lighting, puking up rats, talking battling fireballs, wild hand rays, people turning into pigs and even a creature or two with a feel for the psychedelic. It just doesn’t stop including some funny dubbed dialogue.

Now the fun really starts as she is used, actually her head and dangling internal organs, are used to fly around and feed on fetus blood straight from the womb of unfortunate women. Yeah you heard me. A flying blood sucking head so the witch can regain her youth. So is Cathy’s fate to be a flying fetus sucking head? Or will her newfound love with help of his knowledgeable uncle be able to save her from the horror of it all in a truly bizarre battle of magical powers. Crazy freaking shit here I assure you.
