CLOVERFIELD director Matt Reeves talked to the Los Angeles Times about his upcoming English remake of the award-winning Swedish horror film LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, which was based on John Ajvide Lindqvist's original novel. "I was just hooked," Reeves told the newspaper. "I was so taken with the story and I had a very personal reaction. It reminded me a lot of my childhood, with the metaphor that the hard times of your pre-adolescent, early adolescent moment, that painful experience is a horror."

The brutal, ultra-hard horror film, which was formerly known as THE MIDNIGHT MAN, is going to be one of the key horror titles of 2009. The film tells the story of an ex-con who plans to steal a rare jewel from a house while the family is away. The only problem is that a masked marauder entered the house earlier in the night and turned it into a gigantic man-trap. Director Marcus Dunstan,who also produced FEAST and wrote SAW IV-VI, made the THE COLLECTOR with hardcore horror fans in mind.

Genius Products and The Weinstein Company are set to release Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse films on Blu-ray on August 11, reports Blu-ray.com. No edition details are available, other than this would be a two-disc set, but it may well be the theatrical Grindhouse double feature.

Mark your calendars for September 22 as Anchor Bay Entertainment will be releasing the Rob Zombie produced THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO, which features voices by Paul Giamatti, Tom Papa, Sheri Moon Zombie, Brian Posehn, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Danny Trejo, Geoffrey Lewis and Tom Kenny. The 2-D animated comedy, based on the Spookshow International comic book "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" created by Zombie, follows the exploits of a washed-up Mexican wrestler, El Superbeasto, in the mythic world of Monsterland.
